Kevin Batchelor is the owner and head instructor of Keep It Real Self Defense LLC. With over a decade of experience in martial arts and personal protection, he has dedicated his career to teaching practical skills that emphasize both effectiveness and safety.

Kevin began his training in Kajukenbo, studying for four years before expanding into Jeet Kune Do and Filipino martial arts. He holds an Associate Instructorship in Jeet Kune Do and a Basic Level Instructorship in Cabales Serrada. In addition, he is a black belt in Shotokan Karate and a certified Active Shooter Response and Bleed Control Instructor through the Health and Safety Institute.

His approach to instruction is rooted in real-world application. Kevin’s primary goal is to prepare his students to recognize, respond to, and survive dangerous situations, equipping them with the confidence and skills necessary to protect themselves and others.

This 8-week program is designed as a fun, structured two-month introduction to martial arts for children ages 7–12. After completing the program, students may choose to continue into the Beginner Karate class and will earn a Yellow Stripe belt.
